DHAMAAL (2007) "FUN UNLIMITED"

 Dhamaal (fun) is a 2007 Indian comedy directed by Indra Kumar. Story is all about hidden treasure it starts with four unemployed friends (Roy, Manav, Adi, and Boman) who were kicked out by their landlady for not giving their rent. They all make up a plan to earn money. One of them ask the other to steal painting from the house so that they can sell to the late business man Dwiwedi for money. But accidently Manav picked up the blank one. They humorously sell the painting for 20,000 to Dwiwedi’s son. They again steal that painting to sell it to Mr. Aggarwal not knowing that he has been murdered. During investigation of Mr. Aggarwal, inspector got the information that before murdered he was talking about some horse and grass. At the same time all four arrived at Aggarwal’s residence to sell painting, inspector came and demands to see the painting. Seeing the horse and grass he immediately arrest them. While travelling on highway inspector releases them after learning that they are innocent. All the scenes are full of humor. They all get happy until they saw a car accident of Don Bose. He tells them that there is hidden treasure in Goa under a big ‘W’. The four were overjoyed but inspector Kabir Nayak came across who has tried to arrest Bose from last 10 years. He tries to get the information from the four friends but they run and decide to travel to Goa. Desperate for his promotion, Kabir was determined to capture the four. All four steal Boman’s father car but Roy loses control of the car in forest and hits it against a tree, breaking both the headlights. Next day Nari (Roy’s father) is waiting for inspector to file a complaint against his son for stealing car. He gives Kabir the photos of Boman and car. After seeing the picture Kabir gets excited and he start searching for them again. In the meanwhile they all four come across a broken bridge the only way to Goa so they decide to jump the car but Boman was not agreeing on it. After a while they managed to jump a car but it blasts off. Kabir tracks them and he was also able to learn the location of the treasure due to Manav’s dumbness. He ties all four of them to a tree and sets off. However they manage to escape and it was revealed that Roy had actually cut the engine wires of Kabir’s car so he must have not gone too far. They reach a Dhaba (cafeteria) and there they become imposter to stop Kabir from getting that treasure alone. As a powerful inspector Kabir fought with all of them and at last came to conclusion to divide 10 crores into 60 40 (60% for four friends and 40% inspector) but Boman ask for money separately for damaging his father’s car from rest of three. As a result, fight arises and they decided that whoever reaches the treasure first would take all the money. They all try to reach Goa as fast as they can. Roy come across a guy named Babu Bhai (Sanjay Mishra) and conform to divide the money among themselves provided they manage to be in Goa Asap. On the other side Boman bump into his father. Although Nari at first desires to kill his son, changes his mind once he learns about the 10 crores. Adi and Manav travel along. Kabir nearly escapes death as he hangs off a drop and was saved by some kids. All of them bear a series of hilarious adventures before reaching Goa.

Apart from Kabir they all reach the garden at the same time. Finally Roy explains that it is useless finding the treasure alone and all agree to find the money together. They all search for the big ‘W’. Manav is able to locate the palm trees which make the shape of ‘W' when a crow poos on Adi. But Kabir arrives there and ask them to divide the money between them to which all agree. They dig there and are able to find the money. But again a fight ensues over the payment for the damage of car. The fight goes on and Kabir took the advantage and runs away with money. He tries to escape in hot air balloon on beach but finds it tied to a pole , he dives in an effort to cut the rope but couldn’t. They all catch him and the balloon blows off shore.

Wind changes direction they all follow the balloon but balloon clashes against a pole and the bag falls down. All of them try to collect money suddenly some spot lights target them and a crowd cheers loudly behind them. They were standing on stage where a function is being held by an organization name ‘Help Orphans’. Seeing so much money in their hands everyone thinks they came to donate. All of them get emotional and every one attempt to give the cash for orphans. The film ends on a cheerful note conveying that the fate of the cash was already determined. It was never belonged to the four friends. They were simply a medium that helped the money reach its true destination.
